| Ambuja Palm Fatty Acid Distillate(PFAD) |
 |
| |
INTRODUCTION
| I |
Ambuja palm fatty acid distillate
is obtained
from the crude palm oil by physical refining with live steam
at very high temperature and at reduced pressure. |
| II |
The
distillate
is a chemical unit
occurring naturally
either
single or combined
and consisting strongly
linked carbon and
hydrogen atoms in
a chain like structure.
At the
end of the chain
is a reactive acid
group composed of
carbon, hydrogen
and oxygen. This
acid group permits
reaction
with alkali, alcohol
etc. and is known
as reactive group. |
